This policy explains what information ChristmasWordSearch.org (“we”, “the site”) handles and your choices. The short version: we do not have accounts, we do not ask for your name or email to use the site, and the puzzles you make stay in your browser.
Information we do not collect
- No accounts, logins or sign-up forms.
- Word lists, titles and hidden messages you type are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. A share link carries the puzzle inside the URL itself, so only people you send it to can see it.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Children’s privacy (COPPA)
The site is used by children together with parents and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and nothing on the site requires a child to enter personal information. Advertising on the site is intended to be configured so that personalized (interest-based) ads are not shown on pages directed to children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Advertising and cookies
We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in the EU/UK, youronlinechoices.eu. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we will ask for your consent before ad cookies are used.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the puzzles still work without them.
Analytics
We do not currently use any analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this page.
If you email us, we use your address only to reply and delete messages when they are no longer needed.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Questions or requests: [email protected].
